If you are like me, you love your sandwiches. I have always been very picky about my food, but when it comes to sandwiches…..whoa! I know you can go into different types like Subs, hoagie, hot or cold. These places are suggested based on overall satisfaction.
Alottas
This shop is a gem known if you grew up in south bay area. Sorry my Socal readers, the Northern California south bay. It is populated by students because it is near the local high school in Los Altos. I highly recommend that you try the Mike’s special.
Javans
They have a great range of different sandwiches here. You can get anything from bbq chicken to veggie. It is located next to Woodstocks in the heart of Isla Vista. Javan’s sandwiches always taste better because of the local college talent that is always there.
Gary’s Deli
Gary’s is a new york style deli in Corona Del Mar. Don’t let the area scare you the prices are reasonable and the sandwiches are awesome. The bread is where it is at. Make sure to ask for a roll. also there signature new yorker is quite good. Stay away from buying chips. They cost as much as the sandwich.
4.0 Deli
San Diego is well known for offering some great food. 4.0 is also near the SDSU campus and offers great tasting sandwiches. I usually go for the bbq chicken, but I have heard many great things about the godfather.
The Sandwich Club
Last but not least is this amazing deli. Nearly impossible to find it is in the most unlikely areas. The store is tucked away inside of a small shopping mall/exercise complex in La Jolla. My friends and I ate there after surfing and all three of our sandwiches were incredible. Like Javans the talent is distracting.
Please feel free to comment and suggest your favorite sandwich shops! Cheers!
