Learning Through Video Tutorials

Came across this really cool website that allows people to purchase online video tutorials on any subject. Looks like they just launched recently, but very impressive and easy to use design. I have been spending much time learning how to play the guitar through online video tutorials and getting pretty sick of sifting through terrible youtube lessons. Its about time someone came up with a website that offers some quality tutorials out there.

It looks like most of the tutorials are geared toward design right now, personally I would like to see more in the sports and music category. If I was more talented in guitar, I would create one myself. Most videos are somewhere around the $3 range and cost only $1 if you are willing to make a deposit of twenty. going to keep these guys in mind for the futre.

Wave Garden

This type of technology has been talked about for quite some time, but not been created till now. I have had the opportunity to ride a standing wave at the Wave House in San Diego, but it felt nothing like surfing. It felt like a combination of skim boarding and ice skating. This wave is the real deal. I was reading their specs and they said that they create a wave much larger then the one created. If I had some money I would invest in creating one of these in Orange County and share it with no one. haha

iphone 4S

I am sure you guys have heard the hype on the release of the new iphone 4S. why couldn’t they just call it 5? Anyway if you haven’t seen the video demonstration on Siri, it is pretty amazing. Apple has consistently been innovators with the industry and Siri does not fall short. It is not just another voice program that makes calls for you. Also it is not a voice automated service like when you call At&t and have to repeat yourself over and over.

Think of it more like artificial intelligence. You can talk normal to it and it understands. It also recognizes different accents. I am not too stoked on the robot voice though.We are getting scary close to Artificial Intelligence. Check it out for yourself.

Iphone Siri Argument

I haven’t gotten a chance to see this in person, but I heard the new Apple iphone 4S is pretty incredible. The addition of Siri, a speech activated application, has put a new standards for smart phones. Here is a funny clip from collegehumor.com showing the help that Siri can give.

I not one to watch much television. Actually I have stopped paying for cable all together. All my shows are watched through Netflix or Hulu. I found that I have been watching shows that I want to watch and not filling in my time with junk like reality shows. Netflix has been lagging with updating new movies to view ever since their decision to try to split the company up. Hulu provides a good amount of tv shows to watch, if you are willing to watch them after there air date.

One of those shows I like to watch is Parks and Recreation. It is for sure one of the funniest shows on right now. Many say that Modern Family is the winner, but Parks and Rec gets more out of me. I recommend “Treat Yourself” episode or “the penguins”.

How To Dance At A Rave
